Recent terrorist attacks in Bangaluru in Karnataka and Ahmedabad in Gujarat in India are retaliatory in nature. The Islamists were retaliating against the Gujarat pogroms against the Muslims a few years back. In my opinion the religion of Islam is responsible for these retaliatory attacks. The Qur'an which is believed to be the words of the God almighty, Allah says as follows: "We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrong-doers." (Qur'an 5.45 translation by YUSUFALI) The believers should take this historical fact into serious consideration: Islam was organised as a religion in the background of the nomadic tribal culture of Arabia. The Qur'an in fact glorifies the tribal culture. Unless the believers get out of the tribal culture, discard all the political aspects of the religion and shed off the ethos of war Islam will not become a religion of peace. In India retaliatory actions by the Islamic terrorists against the pogroms and ethnic cleansing actions of the Hindu fascists will worsen the conditions of the Muslims. Terrorist actions of Islamists will cause Islamophobia and it will make the life of Muslims in India miserable.
